New indiepop in the mail! Sucrette’s new album Bon Voyage which just came out on May 20th on Japan’s Flavor Records. 8 brand new tracks and 2 remixes of songs from their debut C’est Si Bon mini-album which is being re-released with bonus tracks in June. Also got a couple of older Shelflife releases, Moving Pictures “Joie de Vivre” and Souvenir “S/T EP”, both bands are from Spain. From the Shelflife website:
Souvenir: “…Six delicious slices of pop sung in French just to remind us that the spirit of Françoise Hardy, France Gall, Jane Birkin and even Sylvie Vartan or Brigitte Bardot, is still alive in many different ways, making more sense than ever, and shining with the colour and shimmer of the Spring of 1969.” Moving Pictures: “…This eight track wonder is filled with Sarah Records-esque bossa pop influenced by Bridge, France Gall, Cardigans, Françoise Hardy, Shoestrings, Laura Watling, Would-Be-Goods, and others. Moving Pictures are one of Spain’s premiere pop/bossa nova groups as they combine warm, jazzy sounds with sweet, child-like female vocals.”
Stay tuned, these bands will be featured on podcast in the next week or two!
